LaTex is an Edinburgh electronic duo that mix complex breakbeat rhythms with the dark and gritty world of modular synthesis. Their unforgiving industrial sounds and intricate rhythms produce music that blurs the lines between techno and experimental noise. Accompanied by an array of music visualizations that move and change with the music they promise an audio/visual experience like no other.

FOREVER ALIEN started as as an all-hardware minimalistic electronica experiment that over the years has morphed into a medium for pushing the limits of the vocal driven song within the realms of EBM, Post-Punk, Psychedelic and Darkwave always with a touch of experimentalism. He has played shows across Europe and UK, opening for the likes of Damo Suzuki, Sonic Jesus and Echo Machine and released his first record Safe as War in 2018 on Bulbless Records and an EP “Chasing the Dragon” on Dirty Beach Records in 2020. The EP’s single “The First Time” was shortlisted by The Skinny as the best of Scottish Music 2020. A new full length record is expected to be released in spring 2025.

TH3ST3P is proud to present the next instalment of our late nights of experimental live electronics with Gaming and Kaos Machine.

GAMING is the idm/electronica alter ego of musician and producer ALAN BRYDEN a veteran of the Scottish music industry who has been DJing and writing electronic music for over 25 years. His early work as SIDEWINDER on Soma Records garnered crucial support from key players such as Groove
Armada, Kruder & Dorfmeister and Jazzanova amongst others and his standout 1999 track ‘Stanways Revenge’ has just been reissued on Nik Weston’s Mukatsuku records. GAMING debuted on Edinburgh’s exceptional HOBBES MUSIC with the understated album ‘SCENES FROM A DESERTED CITY’ which inadvertently launched just before the pandemic emptied cities and crucially club spaces everywhere. A follow up is due in the new year.
He is a resident DJ on Radio Buenavida and also co-runs respected monthly electronic music showcase Attack/Release in Bloc, helping to curate a space for a wildly diverse range of local and national acts.

KAOS MACHINE is a joint sonic onslaught of live hardware electronics wielded by Johnny Jay (Forever Alien/Digital Disaster/Secretion) and Keith Duncan (My Fiend/Boardgame). Modifying mechanical energy from a disordered state, using modern machinery to manipulate moving rhythms and ineffable vibrations they breathe life back into The Machine.
The wildness will electrify the room as it emanates from these strange men doing strange things with their strange machines.
